Other HID Info is a simplified version of the examples found in this thread that is mostly for RF remotes. If your trying to control a media player using one of the AHK function libraries then the media player does not need to be active. If your trying to control a media player by sending hotkeys then the media player must be active. If your just wanting to receive the data from the remote then no gui is needed. It really depends on what your trying to do.
